First International Symposium

With the participation of Sheikh Rashid Ghannouchi

STG, in cooperation with the Center for Political, Economic and Social Studies, SETA, organized the first international symposium, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Istanbul / Turkey

This symposium comes within a series of international seminars that the group will organize in partnership with the SITA Center in order to reach a holistic vision for a comprehensive civilization project for the nation by hosting a number of great thinkers in the region and listening and discussing their ideas on forming a common vision that collects and intersects in many axes between the different and proposed intellectual projects In the region, whether theoretical or those with practical experiences.

The Strategic Thinking Group is working on trying to create a state of awareness in the field of strategic thinking and planning and to develop a coherent vision for a comprehensive civilization project for the region that helps stop conflict and crisis situations in the region and pushes in the direction of stability and comprehensive development in the region.

Over the course of two sessions, Sheikh Rashid Al-Ghannouchi stressed the importance of dialogue and discussion on many concepts in order to create a common image that embraces the nation and stressed that the Islamic democratic project is in itself one of the most important tools that achieve a common vision among the people of the nation and that providing freedom for societies and peoples is a major goal. It would provide everyone with equal rights and duties and guarantee the free and fair circulation of power between the various parties and groupings.

The international symposium had the participation of many thinkers, academics, researchers, politicians, executives, think tanks, research and various Arab and Turkish studies, who influenced discussion and dialogue on the idea of an inclusive civilizational project through many interventions, discussions, and various ideas.

The symposium concluded with a large public conference attended by a group of thinkers, experts, researchers, academics, and various Arab, Turkish and Islamic audiences.

Sheikh Rashid Al-Ghannouchi addressed the state of the Arab revolutions, the role of the Tunisian Ennahda movement, and the future of the region in light of many challenges, crises, developments and changes that the region is going through, stressing that revolutions are still alive and that revolutions do not die but are in a state of ups and downs like other revolutions throughout history.

Mr. Mohamed Salem Al-Rashed, Head of the Strategic Thinking Group, participated in the work of the international symposium, and during many participations and discussions, he emphasized the importance of an inclusive civilizational project as a starting point for achieving stability and development in the region.

Mr. Burhanuddin Dharan - Head of the Center for Political, Economic and Social Studies, also participated in the work of the international symposium and emphasized the necessity of crystallizing common and coherent visions between the various components in the region to achieve balance, stability and comprehensive development in the region.
